Coalition meeting reflection
On behalf of the coalition I want to say thank you to everyone who attended tonight’s meeting at the Fredonia government center. We think it went well, and we’re glad to see the audience engaging in questions and discussion. We are grateful for your showing up, showing interest in this cause, and also for your monetary donations. Our greatest power in this is in coming together.
CBS 58 was in attendance and ran a story on the 10:00pm news. Link here
Application filed with PSCW
As of today ATC has filed the application for the Ozaukee County Distribution Interconnection Project. It can be found here. This is a cost/environmental/social analysis of the various routes and combination of routes proposed. Nothing conclusive has been decided at this point.
Questions
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE POWER LINES:
Because ATC declined to meet with the community to answer our questions, we have submitted the list of questions posted below about the power lines to ATC and its counsel. If you have additional questions, please send them to: protectfredoniacoalition@gmail.com.
If ATC answers our questions, we will post the answers here on the Protect Fredonia Coalition website. Thank you.
ATC Declines to meet with local community to answer questions
As you know, we are planning to host a “next steps” meeting on Tuesday, September 30, at the Government Center in Fredonia, at 6pm, to discuss the Power Line Proposal by ATC. As many of you are aware, we invited ATC to participate in this meeting, in order to give them an opportunity to answer the many questions coming from our community.
On September 24, we were informed that ATC WILL NOT MEET WITH US ON SEPTEMBER 30 TO ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS.
In view of this, we have sent them all the questions gathered from our community to date and requested that they provide us written responses before our meeting. We will update you at the meeting as to what we hear from ATC
Next Steps Meeting Sep. 30th
If you have questions you’d like addressed at the meeting please drop a comment below. We’ll make sure they are included in the discussion.

Town of Fredonia Resolution
7:30pm, on September 10th the Fredonia Government Center was packed with residents interested in halting the proposed power lines. A number of members from our coalition spoke, including Joseph Gromacki, Patti Plough, Jacqui Fulcomer, Trish Binkowski, and Angeline Desotelle. They spoke on the multitude of negative impacts that these lines will have on the community as well as individual residents. Without objection the board passed a resolution opposing new high voltage transmission lines in the Town of Fredonia. While this resolution is a non binding agreement, it does show support for the people of Fredonia by the board members of the town, and we do appreciate the endorsement! The full resolution document can be downloaded here.
In addition channel 4 news was present and ran a piece on their 10 o’clock news of that evening. Details of the piece can be found here.
Neighborhood Meeting
On August 25th a neighborhood meeting was held to discuss the plans of the ATC and its impact on our neighborhood. About 65 people were in attendance.
